CAMARILLO : Council Extends Watering Hours
- Share via
Camarillo residents will be able to water their lawns before dark now that the City Council has voted to change the ordinance that prohibits watering between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. year-round.
Prompted by numerous complaints to the city, the council voted unanimously last week to have John Elwell, director of community services, rewrite the ordinance to prohibit garden watering between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. during standard time and 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. during daylight saving time.
The council also directed Elwell to delay enforcement of the current ordinance until the council can adopt the new hours.
The vote came after a failed motion by Councilman Ken Gose to remove the winter restrictions altogether.
