Mercury Reported Ill: Freddie Mercury, 45, the flamboyant lead singer of Queen, is reported to be gravely ill with AIDS. ABC News reported that Mercury, whose real name is Fredrick Bulsara, is fighting double pneumonia. A spokesman on Tuesday had no comment. Queen was one of the most popular British rock groups of the 1970s and 1980s. When the group released an album earlier this year but did not do the usual tour, it was rumored that Mercury was ill. The group’s biggest hits included “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “We Are the Champions.”
