ANAHEIM — The body of a man who had been shot to death was found behind bushes beside Santa Ana Canyon Road on Tuesday afternoon, prompting police to close the road during heavy commuting hours.
The body of the man, who was not identified, was found at about 3 p.m. by a passerby, said Anaheim police officer Joe Karns. It was not immediately known where the man was shot or how many times.
Police closed Santa Ana Canyon Road between Weir Canyon and Gypsum Canyon roads, just west of the Orange-Riverside county line, for at least four hours while they investigated the scene, Karns said.
“Traffic was a literal mess out there,” Karns said.
