A Queenly Touch: The hit production of Copenhagen’s winter ballet season has impressive production credits. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark designed the scenery and costumes, the prime minister’s wife directed the dancers and Denmark’s two artistic first ladies helped produce “A Folk Tale.” The queen cut and sewed some of the 200 costumes and remained during rehearsals to correct details. “I am undoubtedly a beginner. But I have learned a lot through the daily work at the theater,” she told a Danish newspaper. The queen, 51, also has exhibited watercolors in Paris and Oslo and has translated modern novels into Danish from English and French.
