HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL : St. Augustine Stages Rally to Top Christian

St. Augustine gained sole control of first place in the City Harbor League after it came from behind for a 28-14 victory Saturday night over Christian at Granite Hills High.
St. Augustine (4-3-1, 2-0) began the weekend tied with Coronado for first. Coronado was upset by Clairemont Friday.
John Mozerka led St. Augustine on offense, gaining 170 yards on 18 carries. Quarterback Aaron Buckner completed 10 of 15 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw one interception.
On defense, Gustavo Villafana had 13 tackles for St. Augustine.
Christian fell to 5-2-1, 0-1-1.
Eight-Man
La Jolla Country Day 47, Pasadena Flintridge 15--Rashaan Salaam and Eric Abrams combined for all of La Jolla Country Day’s offensive points. Salaam ran for six touchdowns and 401 yards on 20 carries. Abrams kicked six extra points and a field goal as LJCD improved to 7-0. Flintridge dropped to 6-2. The game was called because of darkness with 3:45 remaining.
