In Garden Grove League girls’ volleyball:
La Quinta 3, Kennedy 2--Carin Whittington had 21 kills and Tay Lu 47 assists for La Quinta (13-1, 11-1), which clinched a tie for the league title.
In Angelus League girls’ tennis:
Rosary 17, Bishop Amat 1--Joyce Cruz didn’t lose a game, and Bonnie Neri lost only two as the Royals (14-4-1, 7-1) assured themselves of a second consecutive league championship with the victory at Fullerton Tennis Center.
In Sunset League girls’ tennis:
Fountain Valley 14, Huntington Beach 4--Michelle Berkowitz won her singles sets 6-0, 6-1, 6-1, and improved her record to 48-3 (33-0 in league play). Nina Basica and Nora Kapche also swept in singles for Fountain Valley (12-5, 10-1), which clinched at least a tie for the league title.
In Orange League girls’ tennis:
Valencia 15, Savanna 3--The doubles team of Cyndi Nguyen and Bernadette Cuyugan swept its sets to give Valencia (10-0 in league) its ninth consecutive league title.
