AT&T; Seeks Changes on Plan: American Telephone & Telegraph is planning to ask the Federal Communications Commission for permission this week to cancel customer subscriptions to discount long-distance services, including Reach Out America, if customers switch to other carriers. Now, many customers unwittingly continue to pay for the AT&T; subscriptions, which range from $1.90 to $8.70, even though they don’t use them. AT&T; said the problem has been exacerbated by increasingly frequent switching by customers among carriers.
