Public’s Help Asked in Dumping of Newborn
Police asked for public assistance Monday in their effort to find the person who dumped the badly beaten body of a newborn baby into a dumpster behind a Downey apartment building.
The body was found by officers about 5 p.m. Friday in the 7300 block of Neo Street after police received an anonymous call, Lt. Steve Douglas said.
“The baby was alive when it was born and died of blunt force trauma,” Douglas said, adding that murder charges would be sought. He asked anyone with information to call 213-861-0771.
