Mark Allen tied Dave Scott’s record of three consecutive victories in the Ironman Triathlon World Championship at Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
Allen, of Cardiff, Calif., finished the 140.6-mile endurance test in 8 hours 18 minutes 32 seconds, well off his 8:09:15 record finish in 1989.
Paula Newby-Fraser, of Encinitas, Calif., won her fourth title, finishing in 9:07:52, off her 1989 record time of 9:00:56.
