What Does Smith Know That These Guys Didn’t?

In Jerry Crowe’s article of Oct. 9, Larry Smith’s consistently arrogant demeanor shines through again. But unlike last year, Larry isn’t laying down the law to potentially the best quarterback in USC history--no, this time he’s putting Mazio Royster, potentially the best SC tailback since Marcus Allen--in his place. That’s right, the coach who built Tulane and Arizona into football dynasties, disagrees with John McKay and John Robinson, both of whom let their tailbacks carry the ball until their tongues were dragging on the ground.
