HUNTINGTON BEACH : Emergency Planning Committee to Meet
- Share via
A newly formed citizens committee on emergency preparedness is scheduled to hold its second meeting tonight.
The Citizens Emergency Response Team will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Hope View School, 17622 Flintstone Lane. The group is seeking new members from the neighborhood surrounding the school, but all residents are invited.
The group’s aim is to prepare residents to cope with earthquakes, large fires or other major disasters.
Huntington Beach Fire Department spokeswoman Glorria Morrison is scheduled to speak at tonight’s meeting. She will emphasize that in the event of a major earthquake, residents initially will have to rely more upon each other than on fire officials.
A video on emergency response prepared by the Fire Department will be shown.
