More on Taos

Your excellent cover story on Taos unnecessarily tries to build up that lovely spot by knocking down Santa Fe. My wife and I found Santa Fe utterly delightful: natural beauty, historical structures, fascinating museums and art galleries, good hotels, fine food--all capped by two magnificent outdoor operas. Nobody tried unashamedly to hustle our tourist’s penny, although we did stay out of souvenir shops. Reading David Wallace’s piece reminded us of the occasions when we have thoroughly enjoyed a concert, only to be told by your critic two days later that we really should not have done so.
