The partially clad body of a woman who may have been sexually assaulted before she was killed was found Wednesday in an alley in Carson, authorities said.
The woman, whose identity had not been determined, was found by a nearby resident in an alley behind the 21200 block of South Main Street, Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Spear said. “The body had severe trauma to the head, and due to the circumstances at the scene, there is evidence that the victim may have been sexually assaulted,” Spear said. Spear said evidence found at the scene prompted homicide detectives to question people in a nearby house.
It was not immediately clear whether they were considered suspects in the slaying or what evidence warranted the questioning.
