Golden West Wins Water Polo Title

Alfred Van Dorp and Corey Delahunt each scored six goals and Golden West College defeated Long Beach, 14-7, in the championship game of the Golden West water polo tournament Saturday.
Golden West (13-0), the top-ranked team in the state, had a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and a 7-1 lead after the second. Long Beach scored five goals in the third quarter but the Rustlers scored four more to maintain control.
Golden West 11, Cuesta 1--The Rustlers dominated this rematch of the past two state championship games. Van Dorp scored four goals in this semifinal game. Golden West had a 7-0 lead at halftime.
Golden West 23, Palomar 1--Van Dorp scored four goals, Delahunt scored three and four others scored two each for Golden West in the first round.
