Why Not Marine Base as Jail Site?

Re “2 Supervisors Rethinking O.C. Jail Support” (Sept. 25): It’s amazing that at least one or two of our supervisors have such revolutionary ideas. (Harriett Wieder is credited with stating that it is time the supers stop spinning their wheels.) And after waffling for only four years or so plus wasting $7 million for advice which they refuse to take. Maybe they should institute another million-dollar study to determine whether or not they ought to really stop the wheel-spinning.
Of course they could really get on the ball and do the job for which they were hired and stop goofing off on all the committees, boards, study groups, commissions, etc. Of course, this could put a hole in their income, but then, of course, they could raise their salaries again.
