How Can Prostitutes Outrank Dishwashers?

The survey on “Status Jobs” is obviously flawed. Missing from the list of “most prestigious” are the highest paid and most widely admired jobs in this country: professional athletes, pop-music performers, TV personalities and movie stars.
Were these occupations intentionally omitted from the survey? Had they been included, they surely would have ranked in the 90 to 100 range, well above physicians, college presidents and the like.
