Kellogg Settles With California, Other States: Kellogg Co. settled lawsuits with the attorneys general of six states over nutritional claims about its cereals. The company, which admitted no wrongdoing in the settlements, will pay $30,000 each to California, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Florida and Texas. Among other things, the dispute involved claims that Special K could increase muscle and reduce fat and that 40+ Bran Flakes could be beneficial to people over age 40.
