COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Pass Defense Remains Question
- Share via
UCLA Coach Terry Donahue is concerned about his team’s pass defense, which is ranked seventh in the Pacific 10 Conference.
“There is reason to believe we have a porous pass defense right now,” he said. “There were a lot of guys wide open Thursday night (against San Diego State), and the ball didn’t get there or it was overthrown.”
With senior cornerback Dion Lambert inactive because of a foot injury, UCLA has a redshirt freshman, Carl Greenwood, and a junior, Carlton Gray, at cornerback. Senior Matt Darby and sophomore Othello Henderson are the safeties.
“I think our secondary will be OK. But we are concerned now. There are some holes, and we have to shore them up,” Donahue said. “I think we’re getting better.”
