ABC Targeted: The National Federation of the Blind plans to picket ABC in New York, Chicago, Denver and Washington on Wednesday to protest the network’s refusal to remove a blind character from the new sitcom “Good and Evil.” ABC’s promotional material describes the character as “a klutzy university psychiatrist who has not yet adjusted to the recent loss of his sight.” Federation officials claim the character compounds the discrimination and ignorance in the minds of the public against the blind. An ABC spokesman said Monday, “The show is a parody of life to extremes. All the characters are presented in extremes. Not one character in the show is intended to be believable.”
