Carbon Monoxide Fells 22 at Youth Hockey Game

ROCKLAND, Mass. — Carbon monoxide leaking from a skating rink’s ice-cleaning machine felled at least 22 people during a youth hockey game Sunday, officials said.
Emergency officials were called after a child apparently fell ill in a locker room and ambulance requests “kept increasing,” Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Henderson said. At least 22 out of the 60 to 70 adults and children in the rink were treated at three hospitals, he said.
