COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Schwengel Leads Cypress to Water Polo Title

Ray Schwengel scored five goals to lead Cypress to an 11-7 victory over Citrus in the championship game of the De Anza water polo tournament Saturday at De Anza.
Schwengel, who was named most valuable player of the tournament, scored 16 goals in Cypress’ four tournament games.
In the championship game, the score was tied, 5-5, at the half, but Schwengel scored two of his goals in succession in the third quarter as Cypress took control.
At the San Diego Mesa Women’s Volleyball Tournament:
Cerritos 2, Orange Coast 1--Reiko Matsumoto and Kris Clemens each had twelve kills for Orange Coast College, despite their 15-8, 13-15, 7-15 loss to Cerritos in the championship semifinals. The loss dropped Orange Coast to a third-place tie.
At the American River College Men’s Soccer Tournament:
Irvine Valley College 5, Cabrillo College 2--Brad Wilson and Keith Rosenberg each scored two goals for Irvine Valley College (5-0-1). Frank Pace had two assists, one to Wilson and one to Rosenberg. Goalie Aaron Ryan had seven saves.
