Weight Watchers Drops Suit: Weight Watchers International Inc. said it dropped its false advertising lawsuit against the Nutri-System Inc. diet plan. Weight Watchers, a division of Pittsburgh-based H. J. Heinz Co., had alleged a Nutri-System’s ad was deceptive and likely to damage competitors because of a false endorsement by Stanford University. The Nutri-System ad, which began running in March, said the company’s weight-loss program got the highest ranking from Healthline, a magazine edited by psychologist Paul Insel, a clinical faculty member at Stanford.
