ANAHEIM — Tom Liegler, general manager of Anaheim Stadium for 20 years, will receive the Orange County Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award at a banquet on Oct. 29 at the Disneyland Hotel.
Liegler’s affiliation with the city of Anaheim began in 1965. He also oversaw the operation of the Anaheim Convention Center and the city’s golf courses--Anaheim Hills and Dad Miller--until 1985.
Liegler, who was one of the founders of the Orange County Hall of Fame, recently started a fund-raising drive to build a museum at Anaheim Stadium.
Other recipients of the award include Angel owner Gene Autry, Dodger Manager Tommy Lasorda and Ram owner Georgia Frontiere.
