The badly decomposed remains of an unidentified man were discovered by joggers near this East County town, authorities said.
The remains were found about 75 feet off Old Highway 80, down an embankment near the 20-point mile marker, shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday, said Lt. Linda Fulton of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death is scheduled today, said a spokeswoman for the San Diego County medical examiner’s office.
