Joe Amato became the fifth top-fuel driver to win three consecutive events, beating Tom McEwen at the Northwest Nationals in Kent, Wash. John Force of Yorba Linda, Calif., won his fourth funny-car title of the season and Warren Johnson of Duluth, Ga., won his fourth pro-stock title.
