BREA : Principal Returns to Higher District Post

Former Brea High School Principal Gary Goff has returned to the Brea-Olinda Unified School District to take over as assistant superintendent of business services.
Goff, 54, was an educator in the district for 31 years before leaving last year to take a job at a computer company specializing in education software.
“The job of business superintendent is something I always thought I would like to do,” Goff said about his decision to return to the district. “I feel like I am home.”
He replaces Tom Connelie, an engineer, who left to take a job with Orange County.
Goff started his teaching career in Brea after completing a master’s degree at Whittier College. He began as a student teacher in 1959 and worked his way up to high school principal in 1971.
As principal, Goff oversaw the $30-million construction of the new high school which opened in 1989.
