Tandon Corp., a Moorpark personal computer maker, said it sold several thousand computers worth more than $5 million to tax preparation company H&R; Block Inc. Tandon said the order is one of its largest ever from a single customer.
Tandon said the computers would be delivered to H&R; Block by Oct. 1.
The company also said that Intelligent Electronics, which operates a network of more than 1,000 computer retail outlets, would begin selling a new line of Tandon computers that allow users to upgrade their systems by changing cartridges--similar to inserting videos into a videocassette recorder.
