Pact Ends Strike by Italian Journalists

ROME — Italian journalists and publishers reached tentative agreement on a new four-year union contract on Tuesday, ending a strike over wages that had shut down news agencies and newspapers as well as television and radio newscasts.
The planned three-day strike, which began Monday, was the latest in a series organized by the National Press Federation since the journalists’ contract expired in October.
