Ceradyne 2nd-Quarter Results Dip

Ceradyne Inc., the Costa Mesa manufacturer of high-tech ceramics products, reported that its second-quarter earnings dropped to $16,000 from $198,000 for the comparable 1990 period. Sales declined 11% to $5.4 million from $6.1 million.
For the first half of 1991, earnings totaled $79,000, down from $264,000 a year ago. Sales fell 3% to $11.7 million from $12.1 million.
