‘Silents’ Film Series to Begin Sunday

“Silents Under the Stars,” a summer series presented at the Paramount Ranch, begins Sunday at 8:30 p.m. with “Fig Leaves” (1926), starring George O’Brien.

“Ella Cinders” (1926), with Colleen Moore in the title role, screens Aug. 18, at 8 p.m. The National Parks Service and the Silent Society of Hollywood Heritage are the series’ co-sponsors. Information: (213) 937-0776.

A special screening of “The Toll Gate” (1920) with William S. Hart at Hart’s Newhall Ranch, 24151 San Fernando Road, on Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m. will be preceded by a tour of the ranch at 4 p.m.
