Nomination of Clarence Thomas
President Bush’s capacity for bad decisions in picking the wrong person for the most important jobs (Quayle, Sununu and now Judge Thomas), and then having to spend time defending them, is nothing short of astounding.
Unfortunately, his choice of enemies (Noriega and Saddam) is no less disturbing; only in this case, he spends time unsuccessfully trying to get rid of them.
