Phillips to Post Lower Profits: Depressed natural gas prices and decreased returns from sales of petroleum products and chemicals will lead to lower second-quarter earnings for Phillips Petroleum Co., officials said. C. J. Silas, chairman and chief executive, said Phillips expects a substantial reduction in earnings from the same 1990 period, when net income was reported at $105 million.
