No Ban in Louisiana: A bill that would have banned the selling of records and videos with “harmful” lyrics to minors in Louisiana was defeated by a margin of 19 to 18 in the Louisiana Senate on Sunday. The measure, which was approved by the Louisiana House of Representatives last month, would have subjected retailers caught selling “harmful” lyrics to any unmarried person under 17 to a maximum punishment of $1,000 and/or six months in jail.
