Theft Case

In response to “Two Deputies Arrested in Theft Case” (Metro, June 28):
I was that motorist this article refers to. The story is a lot longer and more complex than your article indicates. Since I seldom use either of my credit cards, I didn’t miss this one until the bank called.
This missing card didn’t cost me a thing but I was very provoked. I wrote to Sheriff Sherman Block thinking it would not be acted on. To my surprise, Sheriff Block sent me a letter by return mail. A detective came to see me.
I understand, one day after above news broke, that more than a dozen people have declared the same thing happened to them. Why would people not report such events?
I am writing to thank the sergeants involved for their fine work and particularly Sheriff Block for doing a dirty job but protecting all of us.
