CESAREAN UPDATE: There is good news about Cesarean sections from an unlikely source, a recent Orange County study of drug use in pregnancy. It found a C-section rate of 19.8% in 669 deliveries. . . . Survey director Dr. Thomas J. Garite, UCI Medical Center chief of obstetrics, called this “a sane level.” Orange County’s rate was 28% several years ago; the national rate was 24.7%.
