Harbor Improvements Were Promised Before
Councilwoman (Joan Milke) Flores’ state of the union speech was very enlightening to the local citizens of Wilmington.
Wilmington would get a $12-million improvement that will be announced by the Harbor Commission in the coming months. This would include an access to the waterfront, beautification of Avalon Boulevard and an upgrade of the inner city.
It (the commission) would respect the wishes of the citizens of Wilmington on all future industries to be located in this area and would assure that Wilmington will continue to be the site of major heavy industry for the harbor area.
Past improvements promised for Wilmington have been swept under the rug, or no funds were available! Only time will tell.
