Azusa : Electric Rate Hike Killed
The City Council on Monday effectively killed a proposed electric rate increase by taking no action on the measure.
The proposed increase would have meant an extra $2.62 a month for the average homeowner, hiking the bill from $33.63 to $36.25. Electric rates in Azusa have not been raised since 1983.
City Council members, who tabled the proposed increase, said the city Light and Water Department can operate efficiently for now without the increase.
