Paula Abdul wasted no time getting to the top of the Billboard magazine pop album chart with “Spellbound,” which rocketed into the lead in just two weeks. The album is getting a strong boost from her single, “Rush Rush,” that’s rushing to the No. 1 position on the pop singles chart (it’s currently No. 3). “Extreme II Pornografitti,” by the pop-metal band Extreme, is the newest member of the Top 10--inching up one notch to No. 10. The group also has the No. 1 pop single with “More Than Words.” Country singer Alan Jackson, part of the recent country surge up the pop chart, jumped to No. 28--from No. 42--with his “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” album.
* The English rock band EMF is the talk of the pop music since its debut album, “Schubert Dip,” has become a surprise instant hit. After entering the chart last week at No. 20, it moved up to No. 13.
