BASEBALL : DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : Valenzuela’s Arm After Start Is Fine
Fernando Valenzuela said his pitching shoulder was “normal sore” after his first minor league start Wednesday. The 30-year-old left-hander pitched four innings for the Angels’ Class A Palm Springs farm club, the first of three scheduled warmup games. His next start is Monday for double-A Midland at Jackson, Miss.
A CT arthrogram on catcher Lance Parrish’s left shoulder showed no damage to the rotator cuff, and he got a cortisone injection to ease the inflammation in the shoulder. . . . Wally Joyner, who has batted second since May 7, was moved to his old No. 3 spot.
