Hoffa Stepson Reportedly Out of Teamsters: Charles (Chuckie) O’Brien, foster son of former Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa, has been ordered banned from the union for allegedly associating with organized crime leaders, the Detroit News said. The order came from Frederick Lacey, a court-appointed union administrator in New York who is attempting to rid the Teamsters of organized-crime influence, the paper reported. Lacey said O’Brien, who was working in the Teamsters’ Southern Conference office in Hallandale, Fla., acknowledged in a deposition taken in November, 1988, that he was an acquaintance or friend of eight reputed Mafia figures in Detroit.
