COLLEGE SOFTBALL : UCLA Has a Chance to Win Title Again

UCLA will have an opportunity to win their fourth consecutive NCAA Division I softball championship after defeating Central Michigan, 5-0, Saturday in the Pacific Regional at UCLA.

The top-ranked Bruins (52-5) advance to the College World Series for the fourth year in a row and the ninth time in the 10-year history of the tournament.

The Bruins beat the Chippewas, 4-0, Friday in the opener of the best-of-three series. Central Michigan finished 39-22.

CS Long Beach 2-5, CS Fullerton 1-1--The 49ers, 0-5 against the Titans during the regular season and the loser of Friday’s series opener, won the best-of-three playoff at Fullerton to advance to the College World Series. Long Beach, ranked 18th, is 38-27. No. 3 Fullerton finished 53-16-1.
