Calcante Earns Pacific Region Honors
Beth Calcante, the leader of the offensive attack of Cal State Northridge’s softball team, has been named to the All-Pacific Region’s second team as a utility player. Calcante has played every position except pitcher, first base and right field this season. Only all-region players are candidates for All-American honors, which will be announced Wednesday.
Calcante, a freshman from Newbury Park High, batted a team-high .345 and also led CSUN in doubles (eight), triples (five), home runs (three) and runs batted in (22).
The Simi Valley Soccer Foundation will stage a banquet to honor soccer enthusiasts Saturday, June 1, at 6:30 p.m. at Royal High.
