SOUTHERN SECTION BASEBALL PLAYOFFS : Loyola to Visit Esperanza in Second Round of 5-A

Top-seeded Esperanza won a coin toss and Tuesday will play host to Loyola in the second round of the Southern Section 5-A baseball playoffs.

Estancia also won a coin toss and will play host to Tustin in the 3-A division. Tustin scored 21 runs Friday in its first-round victory over Arroyo.

Second-round games in 5-A, 4-A, 3-A and the Small Schools Division and first-round games in 2-A and 1-A will be played Tuesday.

Pairings involving Orange County:

5-A

Loyola (11-11) at Esperanza (24-2); Fountain Valley (23-5) at Katella (17-10); Burbank (17-5) at Edison (14-12); El Dorado (20-6) at Diamond Bar (19-8).

4-A

Arlington (24-4) at Brea-Olinda (15-11); Troy (16-8) at Capistrano Valley (17-11-1); Rio Mesa (18-6) at El Toro (16-11); Gahr (18-6) at Canyon (16-9-1); Sunny Hills (20-6) at Savanna (14-9).

3-A

Corona (18-7) at Laguna Hills (16-10); Saugus (14-9) at Santiago (21-6); La Quinta (21-6) at Antelope Valley (13-9); Tustin (18-7) at Estancia (18-7).
