Pasadena : Annexation Plans Revived
Plans to annex unincorporated county land near East Pasadena along Colorado Boulevard were revived Tuesday by the City Council.
Council members voted to suggest the idea to County Supervisor Mike Antonovich. They also asked city planners to estimate the sales taxes the area would generate for the city and the cost of providing city services there.
Councilman Chris Holden is seeking annexation to increase city sales tax revenue. The unincorporated area contains a Circuit City electronics store.
The city tried to annex the area from its eastern border to Rosemead Boulevard in 1984, but ended negotiations with the county after realizing that the move would be too costly.
