Do-It-Yourself Redistricting Kits to Be Distributed
Do-it-yourself redistricting kits will be available beginning Monday from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
The $27 kit, which includes the demographic and political data necessary to redraw supervisorial district boundaries on a home computer, is being offered by the county to increase public involvement in the remapping.
A $250 fee will be charged for each plan submitted for consideration, but the Supervisorial District Boundary Committee will waive the fee in cases of financial hardship. Kits are available from Room 383 of the Hall of Administration at 500 W. Temple St. Deadline for submitting plans is June 14.
