Vice President Quayle’s Qualifications

Tom Bethell’s article (“Why the Fuss About Quayle? He’s Doing OK,” Column Right, May 9) captures the right-wing philosophy of the Republican Party beautifully (but sadly) in his last sentence: “. . . (Quayle) would be most unlikely to try to upset the existing order.”
The “existing order” is what desperately needs to be upset. Save us from the Dan Quayles who speak more “affectionately” of golf than of government.
