Saddleback Takes Third in State Golf

Saddleback finished third and Orange Coast sixth in the state community college golf tournament played Monday in Visalia.
Long Beach shot 787 for 36 holes to win the state title. Monterey Peninsula (791) was second, Saddleback (802) third, College of the Desert (813) fourth, College of the Sequoias (815) fifth and Orange Coast (820).
Bryan Bennett of Long Beach won the individual winner with a four-over 148. The tournament was held at Kings River County Club and Visalia County Club.
Tracy Fettrow of Saddleback and Brian Saltus of Orange Coast each shot 156, to tie for fifth place. John Dauphin of Saddleback shot 159 and teammate Pomp Braswell shot 160.
