FAST COMPANY: Hiro Matsushita of San Clemente, above, is bidding to become one of the rookie drivers in the Indianapolis 500 auto race May 26. Saturday starts four days of qualifying at Indy for one of the 33 slots. . . . Matsushita, 30, was born in Japan and is the grandson of the founder of the Panasonic electronics company. He moved to the United States five years ago and calls his try for Indy “almost like a dream.”
