Drive-by Shooting Leaves 23-Year-Old Man Dead
A young man died Thursday after he was shot to death in a gang-related attack in South-Central Los Angeles, police said.
Derrell Dudley White, 23, was mortally wounded as he stood in the 600 block of West 86th Street at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, said South Bureau Homicide Detective Brent Josephson.
“It was a typical gang-type shooting,” Josephson said. “A car drove up, possibly containing two suspects, a passenger-side door opened and a suspect fired shots from inside.” The car then sped off. Paramedics took White to Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital, where he died shortly after midnight, Josephson said.
