HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : St. Paul, Crespi Remain Tied Atop Mission League

St. Paul High scored four runs in the seventh inning Wednesday to cap a 12-7 baseball win over host Notre Dame and remain tied with Crespi for first place in the Mission League.
Crespi and St. Paul are 9-2 in league play heading into Friday’s final day of league play. Crespi will play Notre Dame at Valley College and St. Paul will play host to Alemany.
Notre Dame (14-8 overall, 5-6 in league play) got home runs from Glen Carson and Eric Vellozzi.
In other baseball games:
Newbury Park 6, Agoura 1--Jason Cash went four for four with a home run and two doubles to lead visiting Newbury Park (8-14, 4-8) to a Marmonte League win.
St. Bernard 2, Chaminade 1--Ted Corcoran threw a three-hitter but suffered the loss in a Mission League game at St. Bernard. Corcoran (2-8) struck out nine and walked two.
Royal 6, Camarillo 3--Richard Naranjo and Steve Talafuse each had two hits to lead host Royal to a Marmonte League win.
BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
Notre Dame d. La Canada, 15-13, 15-4, 12-15, 15-8--Morgan Hay had 14 kills and Matt Morgan added 12 to lead host Notre Dame (13-4) in a Southern Section 3-A Division wild-card match.
SOFTBALL
Alemany 7, Notre Dame 1--Host Alemany (17-3, 9-1) clinched a share of the Mission League title. Stacey Hart (10-3) struck out five and allowed just two hits.
